FjordSauna

Floating saunas on a Norwegian fjord shouldn't look like a gym chain. I built the entire brand from scratch, logo, identity, website, print, merchandise and gave it a visual language as calm and intentional as the experience itself.

Byggstart

Byggstart matches homeowners with quality contractors. They had the product and the traction, but the brand and website hadn't kept up. In collaboration with Cherry, we fixed that

FjordSauna Merchandise

The main Fjord Sauna brand is calm and minimal. The merch needed different energy, something people would actually wear on a Tuesday in Oslo without feeling like a walking billboard. So we gave it its own visual language. Still connected to the brand, but built for fashion first, souvenir second.

Hiring designers doesn't have to be complicated

Design work doesn't arrive on schedule. Some weeks you need an hour for a pitch deck. Other weeks you're launching and need everything, brand, landing pages, ads, the works.

Hire full-time and pay for empty weeks. Go project-based and explain your brand to strangers every month, waiting for quotes, starting from zero each time.

There's a better way

Same price, same work, different tempo.

Choose based on how fast things are actually moving.

hourly retainer

Chill

Buy hours. Use them whenever you need. Refill when empty. Revolutionary.

Nothing's really on fire but you need design every now and again. Buy 15 hours of work and use them whenever there's a need. I'm available when you need me. Away when you don't. You're in the regular queue, solid work, normal timelines, zero drama, no stress.

  • Buy hours upfront, use them whenever

  • No expiry date on purchased hours

  • Normal priority

  • Best for sporadic needs

Rush

For when reality moves faster than your to-do list. You're launching a product. Building an entire website. Overhauling your brand because the current one screams "we started in a garage". Or you've simply got too much happening at once with campaigns stacking up, requests breeding like rabbits, and that pitch deck that needs to exist by Thursday.

You'll be my priority. You're front of the queue. Small requests ship same-day. Bigger projects in a few weeks.

  • Priority turnaround on everything

  • Front of the queue, always

  • Weekly strategy calls included

  • Best for bigger projects, like website builds, or urgent needs.

$2000 per week

20,000NOK + mva

Same designer. Same quality. Different rhythms.

Both options get you fourteen years of experience. Same strategic thinking. Same person who remembers what your company does and why it matters. Same work that ships without endless revision rounds.

The only difference is cadence. Retainer for sporadic needs. Subscription for ongoing work.

You can also switch freely between them. Start with hours, move to subscription when things accelerate. Or run subscription during a launch, then switch to hours after. The model follows your reality.

Logo Design

A logo that works at 16 pixels and billboard scale without looking lost. Built to feel like you, not like it fell out of a template pack.

Visual Identities

Colors, typography, guidelines that keep everything recognizable. Your brand should look and feel like you.

Websites

Framer sites and landing pages that tell your story clearly. Fast, editable by you, no developer required for headline changes.

Growth Design

Landing pages and ad creatives focused on conversion. On-brand, no endless debates about button psychology.

Print Design

Packaging, brochures, business cards that look like yours. Physical brand presence in the places where screens don't reach.

Light Motion Design

New

Subtle web and social animations. Logo reveals, transitions, nothing requiring NASA-level rendering.

What others have to say

"Juho is an awesome designer! We hired him to cover some key website projects and support our design team for 6+ months. In that time, Juho delivered high-quality responsive websites that helped us to attract new users and convert our existing user base."

Who this will work for

Businesses ready to look like they mean it

You've been running for a while now. Could be two years, could be ten. Revenue's real. Customers keep coming back. But your brand still looks like something you threw together on a weekend because, well, that's exactly what it was.

It worked fine when you were small. Now you're competing for contracts that go to whoever looks most established. Or you're finally launching that product you've been talking about. Or you just can't stand looking at your own website anymore.

SuggestED:

Rush to fix the foundation, the brand, the website. Chill for whatever comes after

Agencies who need another pair of hands

Your client roster grew faster than your team. Good problem to have, except now you're turning down work or stretching everyone too thin or hiring freelancers who need more management than doing it yourself would take.

You don't need another employee with benefits and overhead. You need capacity that appears when projects land and disappears when they don't. Someone who makes you look good without making you nervous.

SuggestED:

Rush when things are chaotic and there are deadlines lined up. Chill whenever there is a bit of ongoing overflow here and there.

Startups that are past the scrappy phase

You shipped the product. Found your market. Maybe raised money, maybe bootstrapped, doesn't matter. What matters is you're past the phase where "founder-designed" is charming and into the phase where it's a liability.

Investors want to see you've got your act together. Customers need to trust you'll be around next year. New hires are comparing you to companies that look like they know what they're doing.

SuggestED:

Rush for the entire rebrand, and website, Chill for other growth materials

People who know the difference between pretty and effective

You're not looking for a designer to make things look nice. You can find that anywhere. You need someone who understands that brand work either moves your business forward or it's just expensive decoration.

Most designers optimize for portfolio pieces. You need someone optimizing for the moment a customer decides you're worth paying attention to instead of scrolling past.

SuggestED:

Rush when strategy matters most, Chill for execution after that

Hey, I'm Juho.

I've been designing brands and websites for 13 years. I've worked with major companies like Lufthansa and T-Mobile, venture-backed startups, and everything in between.

I started Boldout because I was tired of the traditional agency model. Six-figure retainers. Three-month commitments. Endless scope documents. Contracts negotiated by lawyers. It doesn't need to be that complicated.

Good design should be accessible, transparent, and flexible. That's what weekly pricing with zero friction gives you.

If you need design help and you're tired of the usual agency bullshit, subscribe and I'll start tomorrow.

What's your capacity like?

I work with a handful of clients at once. When full, there's a waitlist. Not playing games, just being realistic about doing good work instead of fast work. If you need someone today, get in touch or purchase Rush.
